A Journey of Photographic Vision

I’m reading this book right now called “Within the Frame: The Journey of Photographic Vision ” – it is absolutely fabulous. “There are so many how to books, but not many why to books.” A lot of the concepts in this book have sort of slapped me in the face by how obvious they should have been, but weren’t. I can’t wait to go on my next shoot after finishing it.

Photos: Sailboats in Newport, RI

We were in Newport, RI this past week. The visit was for an unfortunate reason, but the area is just beautiful. Next time, I’m taking a real camera and plenty of time. These were taken just after a late lunch at The Castle Hill Inn, overlooking the bay.

Photo Tour: Small Town Mississippi

The town isn’t run-down, I just looked for old things that made for interesting photographs. Though small, it was a great place to grow up – good people and a simple life. My feet stay on the ground even when my head is in the clouds thanks to a good ole’ southern upbringing.

Yup, this gal is made of fried okra and cornbread.

I would love to have this framed for my office – when my office is no longer packed with furniture because of renovations in the rest of the house.
