foggy mornings

Being awake before 10am is unreasonable. My cats, however, are up at 4am. I feel bad for locking them out of the bedroom but what else can I do? They sound like a full fledged stampede on these old wood floors. Mornings would be worth the effort if I could make use of the light with my camera. The past two mornings have been beautifully foggy along the river, but I only have the time to take iphone snapshots while I’m stopped at redlights.

Photos: Sailboats in Newport, RI

We were in Newport, RI this past week. The visit was for an unfortunate reason, but the area is just beautiful. Next time, I’m taking a real camera and plenty of time. These were taken just after a late lunch at The Castle Hill Inn, overlooking the bay.

Photo Tour: Small Town Mississippi

The town isn’t run-down, I just looked for old things that made for interesting photographs. Though small, it was a great place to grow up – good people and a simple life. My feet stay on the ground even when my head is in the clouds thanks to a good ole’ southern upbringing.

Yup, this gal is made of fried okra and cornbread.

Main St Liquor

Makes me think “Saint” instead of street. The name would be more interesing that way.

snapshots from around town

This place has such character – too bad it is being abused.

If you look closely – you can see that Autumn is sneaking in.
